EXTRAORDINARY ESCAPES CLIENTS SAY

Yes it has been very hard to get back to reality especially after being to such an amazing place!!

I would like to say a massive thank you to Jodie for convincing me to go with Six Senses Laamu when I was trying to decide which resort to go with.
Six senses was everything and even more than what I was looking for in a holiday. The accommodation was stunning, the food was so delicious and the people were just so amazing as nothing was a problem for them. It was so lovely to be greeted everyday by smiling faces!! They also taught my 71 year old mother how to ride a tricycle after all these years of never even hopped on a bike and the dancers you see dressed in red (in pictures attached) absolutely loved William and wanted him to join their team, it was very funny and lovely to see him dancing with them.

I was so sad to leave it was that fantastic!!

I will certainly recommend Extraordinary Escapes to Family and Friends.

I have attached some photos of our experience at Six Senses Laamu for you to look at.
I know when I mentioned to Lyndon that you also deal with Whistler holidays he seemed very interested in organising a snow trip along with a visit to Hawaii on the way back so when we are ready to do this I will be in touch.

I look forward to speaking with you in the near future.

Thank you once again.

Regards,

Cathy

Dear Annette and Jodie

The holiday was amazing – just perfect. Nothing more we could have asked for.

We were also very lucky in that on the day we landed, Six Senses were trialling their second seaplane arrival so that was a lovely way to arrive on the island.

Our GEM, Shivu, was fantastic – catered to our every needs, beach villa was great and the food was amazing.

Beautiful holiday, wonderful memories and trying to ensure that we retain a bit of island magic while we freeze back in Melbourne with 4 degree temperatures!!!

Thank you both for everything – will definitely be using Extraordinary Escape services again on our next adventure.

Kind regards

Hi Annette and Jodie,

We have just returned from our holiday, and wanted to say a huge thank you to you both. Six Senses was absolutely amazing- we were so happy with the choice of resort. Amazing food, staff, snorkelling and the perfect room set up for our family. Your expert advice on choosing a resort was so very much appreciated. The Shangri La in Singapore was great too, and we did get our adjoining room.

All of our other special requests came through, which was wonderful too.

We are super impressed with your service and specialised knowledge and will definitely recommend you to others.

Thanks so much again,

Jessica

The Maldives were stunning. We both absolutely loved it and the resort was amazing also. I really appreciate the time and that yourself and Jodie provided in making sure we went to the right resort. We both went snorkelling together along the reef, from Jetty A to the Chill Out Bar and also from the common pool area. I was also able to scuba dive which was amazing also, I went twice actually. We loved it all, the movies on the beach, the staff, the massage in the hut, snorkelling, scuba diving, the food at leaf, our amazing villa and private pool, the bike riding and crystal blue water the surrounded us.

I tagged you in our photos so hopefully you saw them all.

Thanks again for making our honey moon memorable.

Adam & Lauren.

On behalf of my family and I a huge thank you for organising our trip to Six Senses Lamu. We all had the most unbelievable holiday! My husband and I have been traveling the globe every year, for the last 20 years, and we haven’t had an experience like we just had at Six Senses Resort. This was our 4th trip to the Maldives and we would happily return to Six Senses, it ticked every box so thank you Jodie for recommending this resort. The transfers were perfect to and from the resort and from the time we arrived bare foot we were in heaven. It really was an out of world experience in such natural paradise. The snorkelling from our ocean villa was exactly what we were after. The kids were so enthusiastic about the snorkelling because it was so easy to swim from our villa and witness truly another world! We honestly spent more time in the sea than on land. The scuba diving excursions were fantastic. We greatly appreciate the efforts to request the last Ocean villa which was fulfilled on our arrival. The service and food were exceptional. The resort is great for families and couples.
I would also like to add that the service we received from Extraordinary Escapes was excellent. There was no question Jodie and her valuable team could not answer which we were grateful for. The holiday was tailored to our specific requests. Thank you Jodie & Annette for the exceptional service and we look forward to booking our next trip to the Maldives with you.

Hi Angela
It was AMAZING!!!! I had high expectations and they were exceeded :) Thank you so much for everything you did for us, hopefully we will be able to visit to the Maldives again. Whenever people ask about our trip I cant help but show them all of our happy snaps and tell them that we booked through you guys and what a great package it was - well worth the 27hours to get there.
We ended up with Villa 28 on the Sunrise side which ended up being perfect as we had a nice view of the Islands/ocean and Bungalows (would ask for this room again). As for the resort I cannot fault a thing (except for our bill at the end haha but having the half board was a life-saver!). The staff were wonderful and incredibly friendly/helpful. Buffett nights were excellent and we visited the spa twice and spent most afternoons sipping cocktails and playing Jenga and arguing over Uno at the Chill Bar, we saw Dolphins and Scuba Dived geee i could go on and on but ultimately it was a perfect Honeymoon! Thanks again, hopefully we will be in touch to book Whistler next xmas (fingers crossed)!

Just to let you know we had the most wonderful time at Six Senses Laamu. The people were very caring and worked hard to ensure we all had a fabuluous holiday. You may also want to know that our 17yr old son has Autism and the resort staff made such an effort to make us and him feel welcome at all times. By the time we left the resort, I think pretty much everyone on the Island knew who our son “Charlie” was!!!

Thank you again for all you efforts. It was greatly appreciated.

Kind regards,

Andrea

Big Thankyou to Extraordinary Escapes for planning our dream honeymoon!
Angela and the team were so helpful right from the start in narrowing down a resort that best suited our needs- Six Senses Laamu. The island was beautiful beyond belief and all the little details were sorted out by Angela prior to our arrival. Everything was so stress-free! We have no hesitation in recommending Extraordinary Escapes to anyone who wants to plan that special trip to the Maldives!

Dear Angela,

It was great! It was the perfect place for our honeymoon.

It was more beautiful than all the pictures we had seen. Having bicycles to get around the place was very unique and we enjoyed it very much. The villas were beautiful. All of our requests which we made beforehand to you were met. All the staff there were very friendly and helpful. They made us feel very much at home. We also enjoyed the daily breakfasts. The ice cream bar was another one of our favourite places to visit.

The Dine Around Experience was very good. It meant that each dinner was already planned out for us and we did not have to concern ourselves about how much each dinner would cost or whether there would be a table for us. However, with regards to the Wine Cellar Dinner, we were served wine as part of the dinner and were unaware that we had to pay an extra USD 300 for the wine which we did not order. We would have preferred to beforehand about the extra cost involved and we feel that this should be made explicitly clear to your future clients. Nevertheless, it was still a great experience and we would still recommend it to other clients.

We would strongly recommend Six Senses Laamu to other clients. It is very good value for money with plenty of good food and activities. Thank you for recommending Six Senses to us. It has made our honeymoon the perfect one.

Regards,Ben Lee

Six Senses Laamu is the only resort in the Laamu Atoll, making this Atoll its exclusive pristine playground. Whatever you do and wherever you go, as a guest of Six Senses Laamu, you are guaranteed to be the only visitor there. Whether it is snorkelling on a nearby reef, surfing a nearby break or visiting the local island, it is yours to explore privately.

A stay at Six Senses Laamu is relaxed, natural and authentic. The island is large, with a stunning turquoise lagoon and soft white sand that you sink into as you walk.  The resort has a stunning new swimming pool, bar and light lunch area called SIP. SIP offers a full bar, wood fired pizzas and a al carte menu.  Six Senses Laamu is a densely vegetated island and you are given bikes to ride around and explore.

Six Senses is designed to offer a natural Robinson Crusoe feel, however they have managed to create a vibrant dining atmosphere, with all but one of the six restaurants located in the over-water dining 'hub'. The resort even has a resort ice-creamery and chocolate shop!

Six Senses Laamu has a naturally beautiful house reef. It runs for over a kilometer and Extraordinary Escapes can book in a house reef tour with the resident marine biologist to take you to what we call the Secret Garden. Definitely not to be missed.

There are so many activities available making Six Senses a great resort for water and marine enthusiasts. With one of the most famous surf breaks visible from the beach, Six Senses Laamu is one of our favourite luxury surfing resorts.

The service at Six Senses Laamu is excellent and every guest is allocated a 'GEM' or Guest Experience Manager, whose job it is to look after your every need. Must Do:
After dinner, lie out on your cushioned deck chairs and take in the world's best view of the night's sky just littered with stars! The Laamu Water Villas are located at the ends of the jetties with absolute privacy and incredible views. They also include the option of breakfasts in your villa daily. Very romantic.

The Two Bedroom Lagoon Beach Villa is a families dream come true. A combination of luxury with your very own tree house. This villa has a private pool, two beautiful bedrooms complete with huge indoor/outdoor bathrooms, an enormous living room with couches and dining table and two upper level dining areas with uninterrupted 360 degree views out to the lagoon. This is one of your favourite villas in the Maldives.

The villas at Six Senses Laamu have been built from timber grown in sustainable forests and shipped over to the Maldives. They are designed with a Robinson Crusoe deserted island feel but with a modern twist. They are extremely private and the advantage of a larger luxury island is that the villas are spaced a much wider distance apart. They come with all possible modern amenities including a huge flat screen TV hidden behind perfectly subtle woven doors, available for you to bring out if you choose to.

For relaxing afternoons, all villas have a staircase leading to an upstairs viewing deck complete with a beautiful day bed or dining table. All villa decks are separated from the inside by glass doors that slide back offering complete indoor, outdoor living.

The Water Villas are decorated with brightly coloured green cushions and have an amazing outdoor deck. They have a built in glass bottom dining table and two gorgeous deck chairs built into the edge of the deck. They also have a stunning bathroom with a glass bath tub and an outdoor over-water shower.

The Lagoon Water Villas, Ocean Water Villas and Laamu Water Villas are all the same villas structurally. It is their position on the jetty, outlook and privacy that differ. The Lagoon Water Villas are the closest to the island, the Ocean Water Villas are in the middle and the Laamu Water Villas are located at the ends of the jetties and also includes the option of breakfasts in your villa daily. The Beach Villas are fantastic and are extremely private with vegetation surrounding each villa.

The Beach Villas are decorated with brightly coloured orange cushions and have the perfect private beach area with each villa. The outdoor bathroom is enormous and is decorated with white stone, has two outdoor showers and is encased by bamboo fencing. The Lagoon Beach Villas and the Ocean Beach Villas are the same villas structurally. It is their position on the island and their outlook that differs.

The Lagoon Beach Villas are on the more protected side and are closer to the main restaurant hub. The Ocean Beach Villas are located on the opposite side and have more privacy.

For families, the Two Bedroom Lagoon Beach Villa is an amazing Villa and is the perfect family retreat. With two beach villas joined by wooden walk-ways, a huge separate living area with dining table and couches that open out to a picture perfect light blue coloured private swimming pool, it is like your own Robinson Crusoe tree house retreat.

Lagoon Water Villas: 108 sqm over water

Set above the lagoon, the villas offer upper and lower decks plus a glass sunken bathtub. Weathered timber jetties lead to these overwater havens secluded by high bamboo enclosures. Relax outside on padded daybeds, overwater netting hammock or at the glass dining table set above the gently swaying waters. Within each high ceilinged retreat, organic cotton sheets and customizable pillows top the cloudlike bed angled to optimize water views. Soak up more Indian Ocean from the all glass bathtub and shower in the open air alongside a private water garden. Climb up to the treetop deck for a uniquely Maldivian panorama of the sapphire seascape and unobstructed, unforgettable, equatorial sunset.

Must Do: If you love your food and variety is important then we recommend upgrading to the Laamu Dine Around option which allows you to dine at any of the six restaurants plus it also includes an amazing private beach BBQ dinner and in-villa dining. For Leaf, you have to try the Vietnamese Lunch. It is one of the best lunches that we have eaten in the Maldives and it feels like a completely different restaurant in the day, with amazing views out to the Lagoon. By night, make sure to book one the round dining tables with a setting under the stars.

Six Senses Laamu has an amazing over water dining hub with all but one of the six dining options located here. It has a vibrant atmosphere with music, restaurants, an over-water bar with over-water hammocks and cushions providing the perfect location to watch the stunning Maldivian sunset.

Six Senses is a relaxed island getaway and guests are told on arrival that shoes are optional. The dining hub even has its own resort ice-creamery and chocolate shop. A perfect afternoon treat.

Leaf is Six Senses Signature Restaurant and is themed beautifully. It is the only restaurant built on the island itself, next to the resort's very own organic produce garden. Leaf is one of the best restaurants in the Maldives, built on stilts in the canopy of the trees with access via a swinging bridge. The tables are built around the chef's cooking station providing a fantastic interactive dining experience.

Decadence is another amazing dining option at Six Senses. Set over-water on a private jetty in front of the main restaurant, dine from a carbon neutral menu at one of six low set cushioned tables with a glass bottomed floor. You should see the stars from these tables. Amazing!

Longitude, the main restaurant, is an outstanding dining option, built over water with two storeys. It is divided into individual areas of ten or so tables connected by bridges or walk-ways. It has a stunning outlook being over water and maintains a feeling of intimacy based on the limited number of tables in any area. They have even allocated an area for couples only and one for families so neither experience is compromised.

Deck-a-dense

Deck-a-Dense is the restaurant attached to Longitude, set over the water. The tables have glass floors with an incredible view of the stars at night. It has a zero carbon menu, so all cuisine is sourced locally. Deck-a-Dense only has six tables and therefore it's a good idea to book prior to arrival.

Must Do: Extraordinary Escapes can book in a house reef tour with the resident marine biologist to take you to what we call the Secret Garden. Definitely not to be missed.

If you would like to experience Maldivian culture, the local island tour is an absolute must. As Six Senses Laamu is the only resort in the Laamu Atoll, the local island tour is completely authentic and not over touristed. Seeing the way the local Maldivians live, pray, school and support themselves through fishing and boat building is a truly enriching experience.

Six Senses Laamu is an adventure playground with all of the activities you could think of available, both land and water. With Yin Yang, one of the most famous surf breaks in the Maldives visible from the beach, Six Senses Laamu is one of our favourite luxury surfing resorts. As Six Senses is the only resort in this Atoll, you have this adventure playground all to yourself.

Six Senses Laamu has a naturally beautiful house reef that runs for over a kilometre. It also has one of the best snorkelling reefs and dive spots that we have been to in the Maldives located just five minutes in a boat from the resort. Every Atoll in the Maldives is different and the Southern Atolls are known for their vibrant coloured coral. You can definitely see this at Six Senses Laamu.

The Jungle Cinema is an amazing experience, located in the middle of the island, set amidst dense tropical vegetation. With surround sound speakers throughout the trees, you are invited to lie back and enjoy the latest movie or an old classic on plushly cushioned double seater deck chairs. Great for couples and for families. Extraordinary Escapes can even arrange a private movie night for you.

For Families, Six Senses Laamu has a great Kids Club called 'The Den'. They offer an interactive program for kids to enjoy both indoors and out. If they have turtles nesting on the island, they will take kids to the nest and teach them about the hatching process. As families, you also have all of the activities listed above such as snorkelling, movies in the jungle cinema and surfing. The bikes are a fantastic way to explore the island with the children. Sitting together on the beach eating an ice-cream from the ice creamery in the afternoon is a perfect family moment.

Surfing: Being the only resort in this atoll you will have the break to yourself most of the time. The best time for the waves is from April to October when the swell is easterly or southerly, with the biggest swells likely to occur in June to September.   From the resort, you can see the impressive white spray of the most famous break in the atoll - the Yin Yang - which breaks on the outer reef of the local island Hithadhoo. Morning and afternoon trips are arranged. There are a couple more fun waves around for both left and right-handers further north in the Atoll.
