We absolutely loved loved loved the Four Seasons and the Maldives. It was an incredible experience. We thought it would be too long, but after a few days we were well in the swing of things and didn’t want to leave on the 12th day!! As you told us it would be the case.

Everything was superb, the food, service, island, diving, amenities, even the boutique. Our favourite night was the Bollywood night. The food was out of this world as they have many chefs from India and Sri Lanka. The indian staff dressed up and did Bollywood dancing with guests. The kids went nuts…we ate too much curry! It was a memorable night.

Jason played tennis for 2 hours every afternoon with their resident tennis coach. He was very good as few tennis coaches can push Jason out of his comfort zone.

The diving was spectacular. I went on 5 dives and wanted to do more. The girls learnt to snorkel properly in the open ocean and we saw everything – tuna fish, turtles, dolphins, lobsters, millions of fish, starfish, giant clams, wow! Oh and my 5 year old saw a mermaid (?!).

We went onboard the Four Seasons Explorer to check it out. We would love to dive/snorkel with the whale sharks one day. That diving trip would be one without kids I think.

We will most definitely go back. Next time we will stay in a 2 bedroom villa on the beach side.

Thank you to you and your team for absolutely impeccable service.

Kindest regards,
The Pantzer Family

Jodie arranged our first holiday to the Maldives in 2011 and I would have to say it was definitely one of the best holidays we have ever had.

We live in Moscow and wanted a relaxing, child-friendly, beach holiday which was a direct flight away with little time difference. We contacted Jodie and she presented us with various options and went through the pros and cons of each. After little discussion, it was evident that the Four Seasons Landaa Giraavaru would be perfect for us. From the moment we were met at Male airport to the moment of our return, we received outstanding service from friendly but not overbearing staff. The resort facilities were amazing and the actual place is to die for.
The Maldives is definitely one of the most beautiful places I have ever been too and the Four Seasons resort was the perfect choice for us. Jodie and her team are extremely well researched on the Maldives and are very switched on to people's needs whether it be a family holiday or a romantic honeymoon. In all of my dealings with Extraordinary Escapes, they have been extremely efficient in responding to my requests with many options and very helpful in narrowing it down to what suits us best. I have no hesitation in recommending Extraordinary Escapes and have already done so to many of my friends. I will continue to book our Maldives holidays through Extraordinary Escapes purely because of the exceptional service we receive, value for money and the friendly, helpful staff. Next on our wish list is to book a trip to Whistler!

We had a wonderful time! The resort and the staff were excellent. They really went out of their way to make you feel welcome. We wondered if they had a computer that the wait staff could access that gave them your profile so they knew a run down on your activities.

For my birthday, they really went over and above what I was expecting. Cake and champagne in the room when we first arrived. On my birthday, we got a glass of champagne and another cake at breakfast. That night, we were treated to a complimentary dhoni sunset cruise with canapés and champagne, before we went to Blu restaurant where they had set up our table on the beach away from the restaurant. Yet another cake was delivered for dessert. When back at the room, a happy birthday message on the bed and a gift of a Four Seasons t-shirt. A lot more VIP treatment than I was expecting! It is definitely a place to recommend someone go for a special occasion.

The food was wonderful, the half board was very generous and all food of an excellent quality. Even if you were full, you felt like you would disappoint the staff if you didn\'t complete your meal. My favourite restaurant was Fuego Grill, which I wouldnt have expected.

So as you can see, I have no negatives to say about the resort. In fact, we would be keen to go back but take our children this time and stay in a beach villa instead.

Thank you for your assistance with our booking and making everything so smooth.

We have just returned from one of the most amazing family holidays ever! I just wanted to thank you for helping us to plan the perfect holiday - one we will remember for a long time.My husband is a workaholic so we were in need of a relaxing family holiday without any stress.

I had my reservations about travelling with three small children (ages 5, 3 and 1), and not knowing what facilities would be available at the resort when we arrived. Jodie and the team at Extraordinary Escapes answered every single question I had (and there were a lot!) and spent a great deal of time with me, finding out what our expectations were and matching the right resort to us.
When we arrived we were so pleased to see that our villa was exactly as Jodie had described it, very spacious with plenty of room for everyone. In fact it was such a wonderful villa that we did not want to leave, and spent many hours there with the kids in the pool or playing on our own stretch of beach, or lazing on the day beds.

Apart from the stunning natural beauty of the island (which I will go into later), the staff at Four Seasons Landaa are what made our stay there truly amazing and unforgettable. We were greeted like VIP's on arrival, and the whole management team came out to introduce themselves to us!
Checking in was a pleasure, with cocktails in hand and the kids playing happily on the beautiful swings hanging from the palm trees and playing with the gift bags that the beautiful ladies at the Kids Club gave them when we arrived.

We were staggered at the attention to detail provided with everything from the personalised handmade chocolates for the kids, to the amenities pack for the baby complete with bibs, nappies, baby food and organic Gaia creams and cleansing lotions.
Everyone on the island, from the front office staff, to the dive centre team, to the General Manager, knew our names, and greeted us with a friendly smile everywhere we went. We lost our baby's favourite milk bottle on the second day we were there, one of the staff members found out and had the staff search the island for it, then when it didn't show up they had a selection of 6 different brands and types of bottles shipped in to offer as a replacement the following morning!
Blu Beach, which is located at the sunset end of the island, was our favourite place to go. It is a stunning beach with pristine white sand, a gorgeous lagoon perfect for the kids to swim in, a fabulous sand-floor caf and a huge infinity-edge swimming pool. At night time the staff would set up a table for us on the sand with candles around and we would have a great dinner with the kids playing happily nearby.
We were lucky enough to experience snorkelling with the manta rays one afternoon at Hanifaru Bay. This was a once in a lifetime experience. These magnificent creatures are truly beautiful and it was surreal being so close to them in their own environment. We were impressed with how respectful the marine biologists and staff at Four Seasons are of their ocean environment, and they have wonderful educational activities for the kids and the grown-ups too!
Thank you Extraordinary Escapes for taking care of every last detail of our trip, and for reassuring us with our many questions and concerns. The best part of the service with Extraordinary Escapes is that they know personally the resorts they sell as they take their own families there. I don't believe you can find this kind of knowledge and experience with any other travel agent. It really did take our trip to a whole new level of service and we are so grateful for the wonderful care taken with us. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Jodie and the team to anyone, and I have already done so! I would love to go back to Four Seasons Landaa Giraavaru again and again.

Just a quick note to say thank you for organizing a fantastic trip for my family. The resort was great and the staff made all the difference making a great trip a fantastic one.

We got back on Saturday and have warm memories of the Maldives. I will send through a family pic once we have uploaded them all onto our computer.

What an amazing place. We absolutely loved it. Had a great time. Resort was perfect (yoga, spa, beach sports, room…) – all went flawlessly.

Thanks for all you did arranging the room and for guiding us on what to do and how to do it.

We are now strong Four Seasons Maldives ambassadors…

Our booking experience: Booking with Extraordinary Escapes was just that, extraordinary! From the first contact till the day we departed nothing was left unattended to. We especially appreciated that the proposed itinerary was within our budget without comprising one single item that we were looking for, the knowledge of Jodie and her team which gave us confidence, that all our questions were answered promptly and honestly, suggestions made about options once we had selected our preferred resort, the best room available at Four Seasons Kuda Huraa where we stayed overnight before boarding the Four Seasons Explorer - we felt like we had won the lottery.

There is no doubt that by specialising, Extraordinary Escapes have created a winning position from which their clients are the winners.

Well Done team and thank you!

Our Four Seasons Experience: We initially choose the Maldives for our 25th wedding anniversary for the diving - we would go back for the diving certainly but the friendliness of the people and the beauty of the environment - this is what stays with you. We stayed at Four Seasons Kuda Huraa the first night, then spent 3 days on the Four Seasons Explorer - the only way to go for a dive live aboard and then 7 days at Four Seasons Landaa Giraavaru.

Everything from the second we landed in Male till we departed Male was perfect, we indeed felt that we were the most important guests of Four Seasons (and believe me we weren\'t) - they say it\'s the little things that count and so it was on this trip. I have recounted four of our most memorable below.

1. When we arrived at Four Seasons Landaa Giraavaru our rooms were not ready so we were allocated beautiful bungalows with Private pools until they were - all of the luggage was moved and unpacked for us while we lazed around the pool (or went diving which we did) - we thought these we pretty awesome but the over the water bungalows were amazing.

2. Every guest has a bicycle - my darling husband unfortunately rode his off the jetty coming from bungalows (because he was trying to transport his underwater camera (a rather large beast) in the little front carry basket - within seconds there were two groundsman with a ladder to pull him the camera and bike from the water - they just appeared from nowhere - no damage done and a new bike was waiting when we returned from diving - thereafter a motorised buggy arrived every morning to collect the camera and gear and take it to the dive shop (we rode the bikes).

3. There are around two staff for every guest and without you knowing it you are assigned a staff member to look after your every need (it seemed you only had to think it and there it was) -

4. But the icing on the cake was our \"bath butler\" - on our last day the young man who made sure our Room was tidied every day stopped us as we headed off diving - he exclaimed that he was disappointed that he had not been able to do anything special for us during our stay and that he wished to do so that night - he asked if we would not return to our villa until around 9 pm. We took the dive staff to dinner that evening and returned around 9.30 to find a trail of flowers leading to the bathroom - Gentle candlelight cast a romantic glow - we had no idea what he had done we only knew it had a water theme (because we were divers). The bath was full of warm rose scented water with bubbles - the water gentle running (you have to see these baths to believe them - and on a tray were champagne, skewers of the biggest tastiest strawberries complete with dipping chocolate and pistachios, body creams and salts, rose oil - And a note from our bath butler - and all this because he wanted to do something nice - I cried it was so lovely.

Other things to note, every single picture of the Maldives in any brochure is true to colour - it is just glorious, the sunsets breathtaking, how proud the Four Seasons staff are to be working for the group.

Every note left for you is hand written and personalised, the sand bank dinner was out of this world - it would take pages to describe it, the diving was awesome. Oh and leaving the best till last being escorted right to the departure gate on leaving meant no hassle with luggage. The Four Seasons service lasted till the very end.

Dear Jodie and Angela,

Oh my gosh... Four seasons Laandaa Giravaru is truly heaven on earth! We had such a wonderful time that I can't put into words. The 10 days went so quickly that we had tears in our eyes the day we say goodbye.

The team in Four Seasons had make our stay the most memorable and spectacular.
It is definitely our best holiday ever. Kids love the kids' club! We managed to do and learn so much. At the same time, managed to read and chill...From Fishing, shark feeding, stars watching, snorkeling... To name a few. We did the cast away, picnic and swim in a private island on our own! That was definitely the highlight.

Overall food was amazing... Eating Teppanyaki wagyu beef in Maldives was a nice treat. The quality of food is top, I never eat so much lobster in a week. They were well prepared and so fresh...

We definitely will go back and certainly will pop you a note when we need your help to do the booking. Without your help, our experience will not be the same. I sincerely thank you Jodie and Angela for making my birthday trip so special. I am forever grateful.

Lynda, Hong Kong

Our holiday was exceptional and Landaa Giravaru is definitely one of a kind. I have stayed in many hotels and this is one of the very few where I can truly say that they have thought of everything. In short, we loved it and are very grateful for you having organized it for us.

Thanks again for all of your help and an amazing holiday.

Jonathan, Hong Kong

Quite frankly it was superb and perhaps even better than last year if that is possible?! The children really loved going back somewhere they were already familiar with, and even met the same children that were there last year so there was a little gang of about 8 of them. They swapped emails and we are under strict instruction to go there next year again!!

Four Seasons team were as usual fantastic. We started slow and relaxed, but then got into all the activities. My daughter did PADI seal which was superb, then we did fishing, snorkelling, jet skis, inflatables, Maldivian Crusoe etc etc. We had a lot of fun! The stopover in Kuda Huraa on the way there worked perfectly too.
All in all, a truly extraordinary escape! And yes.. we will be looking to do the same next year!
Thanks again Jodie and team.

Fiona, Hong Kong

The Four Seasons Landaa Giraavaru is a resort in a class of its very own. It is located in the beautiful Baa Atoll known for its abundant marine life and one of the world's most famous sites for snorkelling with Manta Rays. The island itself is absolutely heaven on earth with the perfect amount of vegetation, expansive white sand beaches and an iridescent turquoise lagoon. It is the perfect island escape for families and couples as it is large enough for everyone to find their own piece of perfection.

Blu Beach is arguably the most stunning beach in the Maldives. It is a huge stretch of perfect white sand where the Four Seasons have set up a European Style Beach. Stunning aqua deck chairs and umbrellas dot the beach, where Four Seasons staff bring guests anything they desire, whether it is an ice cold water or a favourite cocktail, lunch or a snack.

There is so much to do at Four Seasons Landaa Giraavaru, or not do, whichever you prefer. You are given bikes to ride around on and as the only people on the island are guests and staff, children are free and safe to ride around the island and explore. The Kids Club at the Four Seasons is absolutely first class. The children are kept busy with an active program of educational and fun activities.

The island has two pools, an infinity pool near the main restaurant that is decorated with bright yellow and orange coloured cushions. The other pool is down at Blu Beach and is surrounded by the aqua deck chairs and umbrellas. They have a fantastic house reef that the Four Seasons has literally made themselves over the years and is an absolute credit to them as the marine life and coral colours are more vibrant than many natural reefs. It is only metres from the beach and is home to all the technicolour fish you can imagine.

Extraordinary Escapes Favourite Feature: Blu Restaurant would have to be our favourite restaurant in the Maldives. It is set on the stunning picture perfect Blu Beach, serving sumptuous Italian cuisine. The d'cor is white with royal blue accessories. With the backdrop of the turquoise lagoon and picture perfect white sand beach, you literally have to pinch yourself to ensure it isn't a dream.

Must Do: The Beach Bungalows and Beach Villas are truly fantastic villas and they are in a class of their own! The Four Seasons have a two-bedroom Land and Water Villa so if you are unsure as to which one you prefer, book this amazing Land and Water Villa offering the best of both worlds.

The Four Seasons villas have a very Maldivian theme that they carry through the design and furnishings of their villas. The villas are all extremely spacious and are a fusion of Maldivian design with modern luxury. They have traditional Maldivian rock walls, teak carved beds, grey polished concrete bathrooms, luxurious bedding and white couches. It is the perfect marriage of tradition with luxury.

The Beach Bungalow and Beach Villas all have huge private grounds with their own private plunge pools. They have very beautiful front gates that are washed with a bright blue paint and an old style bell to be rung to enter the villa. The walls of the Beach Bungalows and Villas are painted a bright Tuscan orange giving the villas a very earthy feel. The outdoor areas of the villas are expansive with outdoor tables and couches to provide an alfresco dining option.

The water villas are beautiful to look at as they sprawl out from Blu Beach. They have white stucco walls with the same bright blue washed front doors. The Four Seasons have four categories of over-water villas, sunrise, sunset, sunrise with pool and sunset with pool. The villas have expansive decks with a mezzanine level with daybed to enjoy the afternoons outdoors.

Must Do: Dinner at Blu and Al Barakat are experiences not to be missed. At Blu, there is one table set privately on its own and makes for a perfect evening. At Al Barakat, the place to dine is the outdoor couches on the rooftop terrace. Dining two-storeys high over water is an amazing experience and the stars are unbelievable.

With four first class restaurants, the Four Seasons provides guests with an incredible culinary experience. Dining at the Four Seasons is also about the setting of their restaurants as they take you to a different 'destination' each evening. Blu is arguably the best restaurant in the Maldives. It is the Sicilian Chef, the stunning vista and the beautiful interior d'cor that make it so special. Al Barakat is set over the water, with yet another location to view the sunset at the downstairs Middle Eastern style Bar. As you walk up the stairs to the dining area, offering indoor and outdoor dining, you are transported to the Middle East with the most authentically themed restaurant we have ever dined at, right down to the water fountain on the outdoor terrace to the cosy lounge style seating. Fuego Grill is very relaxed and set on the beach next to the water's edge.

For sunset you are spoilt for choice here. The Four Seasons ensure that every guest has the perfect sunset experience. For couples after a romantic experience, there is an over-water sunset bar with chilled music and cocktails to order. Couples also have the Middle Eastern style bar at Al Barakat.

For families, there is literally no better spot in the Maldives to enjoy a sunset with the family than Blu Beach. The Kids Club set up hermit crab races to entertain the children and provide some complimentary snacks to keep their little tummies full. The children can run free on Blu beach exploring the water's edge while parents relax at Blu and enjoy the sunset! Perfection!

Located at the western end of the island overlooking a 2-kilometre lagoon, Blu embraces the essence of the Maldives as the place where the ocean meets the sky. From the restaurant pavilion on one side or the Blu Bar pavilion on the other, you can watch the sun sink below the horizon. The restaurant serves light antipasti, pizza and pasta during the day and fine Italian cuisine in the evening.

Must Do: The 'Manta on Call' is an amazing experience and a must do for any marine enthusiast. Visiting the Marine Discovery Centre and building a Coral Frame are also wonderful experiences.

If you can believe it, eight nights at this resort is just not long enough. There is that much to do, or not do, whichever you prefer. With so many dining options and places to watch the sunset, daily life at Four Seasons Landaa is full of variety.

The Kids Club at the Four Seasons is absolutely first class. The children are kept busy with an active program of educational and fun activities. The Kids Club staff are beautiful and the environment is warm and welcoming. They really find that perfect balance between indoor and outdoor time and design activities around the ages of the children on the island at the time. They will take the kids snorkelling on the house reef, take them to the Marine Discovery Centre to visit any turtles they have in the rehabilitation area, take them to Blu for a kids only pizza making class, send them on treasure hunts, the list goes on.

The house reef at Four Seasons Landaa Giraavaru is a man-made reef made entirely by the Four Seasons and their incredible Marine Biologists. It is so mature that in parts you would have no idea that it is man-made. Being only a few metres from the beach, the reef is in the perfect location for an easy snorkel, for children learning to snorkel or for older children that are wanting to independently snorkel themselves.

The Marine Discovery Centre is another unique Four Seasons feature and is somewhere marine enthusiasts and marine enthusiast juniors can spend literally hours every day! It is home to the many Marine Biologists that the Four Seasons employ, including one of the world's most respected Manta Ray specialists, Mr Guy Stevens. The Marine Discovery Centre has interactive TVs set up to provide information on different marine animals and the Marine Biologists invite guests to regular presentations before going out on excursions.

The Centre has a touch tank for children to look at special marine creatures such as sea cucumbers and star fish. The Four Seasons marine biologists are working on a fish breeding program for endangered local fish breeds, primarily for the Maldivian Clown Fish, and they have 40 tanks of fish labelled at various stages of their juvenile life (2 days, 2 weeks, 1 month) before their release into the lagoon waters. The Four Seasons has also built a marine rehabilitation area for injured turtles and guests are invited to watch the Marine Biologists care for these turtles.

The Kids Club take the children to the Marine Discovery Centre regularly and the children get to work alongside the marine biologists as they feed the juvenile fish through eye droppers and tend to the injured turtles in the turtle hospital. What an education for them (and all the while they are having the time of their little lives!).

During Manta season which is June to October in the Baa Atoll, the Four Seasons run a unique activity called 'Manta on Call'. Once you register for this activity, you are given a mobile phone and called if Mantas have been spotted in the area. It is a very exciting experience for children and adults.

The Four Seasons place a huge emphasis on their responsibility to care for the coral reefs of the Maldives and offer guests a chance to build their own Coal Frame. This is a fantastic exercise to do with the family and it teaches you so much about what coral is and how it lives and survives. Guests spend an afternoon with a resident Marine Biologist building a Coral Frame of their very own by carefully tying pieces of live coral to the guests' chosen frame. Once completed, the Four Seasons place a name plaque on the frame and the marine biologist dives down and places the coral frame in the lagoon. Guests are then sent regular updates and photos of their frame and it is a great way to keep a connection with the Maldives and your holiday. Extraordinary Escapes has a frame which many of our clients have seen on their snorkel of the house reef.
